How to get into GvG?
I've been trying for atleast a year to get into GvG as a ranger. I don't care about rank or anything else, I just wanna play. I have been in at least 3 or 4 guilds that all said they GvGed, but they never did. So if anybody has some tips for me, or knows any GvG guilds that are recruiting, I would love to know.

When you see a guild recruiting that says they do GvG, ask them how often they do it. You can also check the guild ladder on the Guild Wars main web site to see if they're on it.

Every time I see a top10 gvg person in RA I ask them to join their guild, so far I haven't been invited to [BadV], [uP] and [vR] but someone from [yumy] said they're now selling invite for 30k, I suggested instead to trade the Destroyer sword I was trying to sell in Kamedan but was unfortunately turned down despite the fact that I had recently installed a perfect sundering mod, making its value slightly higher than the cost of an invite.
Try this. |

I suggest going to Team Arenas and Heroes' Ascent and looking. Guilds go to these areas when they are short players, which likely means they are recruiting. Definitely make sure to ask when and how often they GvG.
Also check out the guild recruiting forums found here

How old are you? http://gwgoodolddays.net/forums/index.php You will have to prove yourself... not that you have to be pr0 your first day but you have to take instructions well and be seriously willing to put in the effort to learn. We dont really need another midliner tho.
also team love is a great beginners gvg guild http://teamlove.us/kisu/ |

word of advice...
dont wait for gw2, gw1 gvg is now absolutely **** . look on QQ for the amount of people bitching HOW bad it is, they don't do that for no reason. But if you REALLY want get into GvG, play arenas, get some ranks up(hero, glad etc) and someone might invite you - if not just spam glad 6 hero 11 lf gvg in gtob. enjoi. |

Thing is, "serious" people don't really spam in gtob. If you really want to try GvG, ask kiSu if they're still active (see Flinte's post) and use that as a launchpad in case you decide to progress further. In any case, by all means do use your own acquaintances to get to someone that GvGs.
That said, I second what everyone else said about not bothering. Last edited by Akaraxle; Jul 15, 2009 at 09:40 AM // 09:40.. |

kisu is still very active.. they just had a problem with spammers so you have to wait for your account to get sorted out. you need to get in touch with billiard.. hes the leader of kisu, hes also a moderator on QQ forums and I think here as well.

If you're serious about GvG, you should probably watch obs mode a lot, and ask players about the specific profession you want to play. Yue's guide on rangers is a good start if you haven't read it already: http://www.teamquitter.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3797 If you join kisu, be sure to ask quests questions, actively work on what they tell you to do, and don't be retarded. PvP is a lot about who you know to get you places, so make friends. Spamming in gtob probably won't get you in a guild that's worth staying in btw. Maybe if all you want to do is byob then gtob is the place for you, but any "serious" GvG guild probably wont spam there. |

What is the differnce between team love, eternus love, and virtual love? that has got me confused especieally because they arent even allies and they share a site. And there is no mention of the guild team love on the team love website. All the applications are for eternus and virtual. Could someone explain this to me?

Virtual Love is the beginner guild. They run the bootcamp.
http://teamlove.us/kisu/modules.php?...ewtopic&t=3907 In my previous post I linked the info that if you had problems with forum membership you should contact an administrator. The problem seems to be that there is no list of forum officials. Billiard on guru is not taking pms. Is anyone else a TeamLove member?

Team and Casual are pretty much no more because Billiard doesn't have time to set up Team love and as far as I know my buddy Gecko was leader of Casual and he gave up on it a while ago. No idea how often Eternus and Virtual still play if at all. |

I'd love to try GvG, but to me it seems like Build Wars with no tolerance for mistakes.

I'm pretty sure you have had an English teacher or professor tell you in the past to get a paper you wrote critiqued by an outside eye. Someone who can find mistakes in your paper that you just can't. It is the same with Guild Wars. People need to welcome the criticism and even ask people to watch their play and comment on it. If you do something well. they will say, "Hey nice job I really like your movement at 2:38", or "I like how you pushed the flagger to hold your team for a boost 14:54". But if they find mistakes (which everyone has every single game they play) they should call you out on them to make sure you know you made a bad play. It is your job to take that in and remember it so that next time you don't make the mistake and you put your team in a better position to win. The only time people every get yelled at harshly is when they aren't learning from their mistakes and you have to repeatedly tell them over and over the exact same thing. It just shows you aren't improving and you aren't listening to what others are telling you. |
